A BRIEF HISTORY
Who we are . . .
The North Texas Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender Chamber of Commerce is a private, not-for-profit, membership driven organization consisting of nearly 300 business entities, community organizations and individuals. Like most chambers of commerce we're focused on the economic vitality of our area and the success of our members. However, we know that inequality and prejudice are counterproductive to a successful and prosperous community. For that reason our mission is to achieve equality through economic development and advocacy.

Prior to the founding of the North Texas GLBT Chamber there was the Stonewall Business & Professional Association, founded in 1993. In 2005 we organized as the North Texas GLBT Chamber to address the expanding needs of our community. As the Chamber we continue the Stonewall tradition of providing networking opportunities and informational programming to our members. In addition, we work to improve the economic vitality of our region and support the positive attributes of a diverse workplace and community. The Chamber represents, promotes and advocates for GLBT and allied businesses throughout North Texas with a goal of equal rights, equal access and equal representation for our community and all of North Texas.

What we do . . .
The Chamber focuses on three strategic areas: Member Services, Economic Growth & Business Advocacy, and Leadership Development. Within these three areas volunteers work to create benefits, programs and events to support the needs of our members and our community.

The Chamber creates professional environments where GLBT people and our allies can meet to promote their businesses, develop new skills and have their voices heard on important issues that affect how we do business and our quality of life.

We bring together a diverse community of business people who offer a wide array of products, services, skills and expertise. By highlighting our shared goals and values we unite to maximize our individual assets.
